Dwayne Cole is owner of Cole's Carquest Auto Parts and Service in Munford, established in 1975. He served the City of Munford as Alderman from 1987-2000 and as Mayor from 2001 to the present. As Mayor, the City of Munford has grown in population, the business community has greatly expanded, and many civic projects have been completed. Those projects include development of Centennial Park, Valentine Park, Poplar Park along with construction of the new fire department and City Hall expansion. During his tenure he has also overseen infrastructure improvements and various street enhancements.
He has been married to Sheila Marcy Cole since 1983 and they have four daughters and seven grandchildren. The family regularly attends River of Life Assembly of God Church in Munford and are deeply involved in the community.
Ray Deneka worked as a Tipton County 911 paramedic from 1981-2016. He served the City of Munford as Alderman from 1997-2005 and from 2013 to the present. He is chairman of the Public Safety committee. During his tenure as Chair, Munford Fire upgraded to Advanced Life Support in 2018 and increased staffing to 4 firemen per shift in 2019-2020. Munford Police upgraded their patrol fleet and hired additional officers. He is also a member of the Public Works committee.
He has been married to Marsha Deneka since 1986. She is a teacher at Munford Middle and serves on the Munford-Tipton County Library Board. They have two daughters and a grandchild. They attend Munford Baptist Church.
I am proud to say I have lived in the city of Munford my entire, 48 years. I have been married to my beloved bride, Kim Glass, since 2002. We have two children Macy and Lily. I grew up in Munford playing Dixie youth baseball and graduated from Munford High School. Dixie youth baseball and Munford High helped me earn a baseball scholarship to the University of Memphis. I earned a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Memphis and was fortunate to be able to gain employment as a teacher at Munford Middle School. I was a teacher for seven years, and during that time I received my master’s degree and plus 35 in leadership. I am currently serving in my 17th year as assistant principal at Munford Middle.
Jack Bomar was born in Munford in 1949 and graduated from Munford High School in 1967. He graduated from The University of Tennessee-Knoxville in 1971 with a Degree in Accounting. Jack retired in 2018 after 46 years in the banking industry having previously served as President of Munford Union Bank, Regional President of First Citizens National Bank, as well as Regional Executive for Simmons Bank.
Originally elected to serve on the Board of Mayor and Aldermen in 2014 to a four-year term and re-elected to a four -year term in 2018. He is a member of Munford First United Church. Married to Kathy Beach Bomar. Has two daughters and four grandchildren.
Deborah Reed has lived in Munford for over 20 years. A former administrator at Southwest TN Community College, Deborah developed workforce training, professional and career programs, and continuing education courses for corporations, small business, and the community. She currently consults for an upstart company providing workforce training throughout the Mid-South. With a passion for community engagement and a life-long interest in the political process, Deborah’s retirement led to an immersion of leadership and activism. She serves on several boards including the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tennessee and is a founding member of the local Hatchie River Region club. She is a graduate of TOTAL and active alumna of West Star and the Delta Leadership Institute. Politically, Deborah is serving her second term on the State Executive Committee for the TN Democratic Party; represents West TN on the Democratic National Committee; and is the first Black to be elected Alderman of Munford. A summa cum laude graduate, Deborah has a BBA and MPA with a concentration in Urban Planning and Management from the University of Memphis. She and her husband, Donald, have been married since 1973 and they have 3 adult children and 7 grandchildren.
Steve has been a Munford resident for only 4 years now but has always wanted to make his “forever” home here in Munford. He has been married to Shannon Childress for 20 years and has two children Emmerson and Cole. Shannon teaches in the Munford school system and both kids are very active in the Munford school system as well. Steve graduated from Millington High School with scholarships in Vocal Performance to the University of Memphis. He later finished at Crighton College with a degree in Business Administration. He served in the banking industry for 16 years primarily in commercial lending. In 2016 Steve left the banking industry, started his own insurance company Insure901, and has never looked back! Steve and his family attend Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis where he is an active participant in the music ministry and teaches a 6th grade boys life group.
